Samuel Robert Torrance OBE is a Scottish professional golfer and sports commentator, a member of the European Tour from the mid 1970s to the late 1990s. Sam had 21 Tour wins and was a member of the European Ryder Cup team on eight times consecutively; on Cup winning side four times as well as winning as a non playing captain in 2002 .
